Indooroopilly Golf Course ... a farm for condo's?

I have been contacted by several people concerned about the IGC condos proposal and the secrecy and exclusion of the broader membership and associates (female "members") from the discussions to date. In effect they are being presented with a "fait accompli" which sounds very similar to BCC "consultation" (more about that later). The meeting of the relatively small number of the total "membership" who are eligible to vote is TOMORROW evening Thursday.
Accordingly, it would be very useful if you could download the attached A4 sign and place it in a conspicuous location facing the street ASAP and if necessary replace it tomorrow afternoon so that if there is sufficient response, it makes a useful symbol of concern from residents for both the media and IGC members.

Anyone concerned about making such a statement should consider how easy it is to manipulate people or to use a well-known phrase "manufacture consent" whether by asking people to put up signs or people feeling that perhaps they should not put up signs. Silence is NOT approval but is too readily taken to be so!

If there is any interest in a vigil group tomorrow afternoon, I will get some A3 copies onto boards and if you have any other very concise "slogans" you would like used, let me know ASAP.

And don't be misled by the its "only 6% of the site" argument and the "it is only to ensure we have a world class course" argument.

IGC used the same arguments to flog off the housing on land resumed from the Redhead family thereby Council (in my view corruptly) provided a windfall profit to IGC while robbing the Redhead family of their "entitlement". The same process is occurring here at IGC again and I have just discovered that the Minnippi Wetlands were apparently resumed by Council for park and road purposes (see below) but are now being sold for a PRIVATE golf course and PRIVATE housing.

So there is no end to how much more housing could go on the IGC course and once the precedent is established, on the CSIRO and DPI-NRM sites at Long Pocket also. And we know these sites are under review for sale so don't be surprised to find the same developers MIRVAC turn up there too.
