If someone in each area is prepared to act as a local contact ...

The sudden proliferation of development applications in WTN has made it clear that we need a more effective means of spreading the message ... so at least people in our community or precinct, know what options they have in the face of developers applications ... and have sufficient time to do so.
Cr Prentice manages to inform some of us some of the time but her advice re Kew Street arrived AFTER the closing date for submissions ...! Surely someone noticed the sign and wondered if developing the site was a "good thing"...!

In discussion, it appears that it might be more effective if someone in each area is prepared to act as a local contact/coordinator so that as soon as a DA emerges, we can produce a local "bulletin" of similar for a local letter box drop as well as sending a copy via here on the email list.

This would provide the catalyst for local community getting together to at least discuss the proposal and provide some contacts. These issues are best "locally owned" but need to be coordinated and well advised. For example, WTSAG is very well informed on small lot housing issues so it is imperative to utilise that knowledge eg with a guest speaker and access to the WTSAG website and contacts.

Any volunteers for the areas eg Long Pocket to Indooroopilly Road, Indooroopilly east of the railway but a group south and another group north of say Cecil Street ...?

I am happy to look after "my" area Marston, Graham and Gilgandra Streets.

What do you think? Remember the story of "the little red hen" ?
