Biography
After graduating from the University of Queensland at St Lucia, Michael Johnson then qualified as a Barrister and ran his own small business. He also worked as a University Lecturer before being elected the Member for Ryan at the November 10 Federal Election.
Michael has lived in the area for more than 20 years. He has been an active patron of community business groups and local charity groups such as Zoe's Place.

Michael represents over 75,000 local residents who live in the Federal seat of Ryan.
The electorate covers a huge area of over 238 square kilometres extending from Moggill east to St Lucia and north-west to Brisbane Forest Park.

JOHNSON SAYS HAPPY BIRTHDAY
TO RYAN'S OLDEST VETERAN RESIDENT
Michael Johnson, Federal Member for Ryan was pleased to make a special presentation to Ryan's oldest veteran, Mr Eric Abraham on his 104th birthday last Thursday, the 18th April.
Mr Abraham was presented with a special certificate on behalf of the Commonwealth Government to commemorate the occasion.
Born at the end of the 19th century, Mr Abraham served in the First World War in the 25th Battalion and survived some of the most famous battles during the war. Discharged in October, 1919, Mr Abraham went on to enjoy to very successful career in government service.
"Not only is Mr Abraham one of Ryan's oldest residents, but he is also a very distinguished Veteran and much loved Australian.
"Mr Abraham is an extremely dedicated member of the Ryan community who still gives his time freely to the local community and local youth issues", Michael Johnson said.
Mr Abraham also received certificates from the Hon Prime Minister and the Governor-General in acknowledge of his birthday.
"He is an inspiration to many people. I wish Mr Abraham many more years of good health," Michael Johnson said.
