Biography
After graduating from the University of Queensland at St Lucia, Michael Johnson then qualified as a Barrister and ran his own small business. He also worked as a University Lecturer before being elected the Member for Ryan at the November 10 Federal Election.
Michael has lived in the area for more than 20 years. He has been an active patron of community business groups and local charity groups such as Zoe's Place.

RYAN RESIDENTS
INVITED TO CONTRIBUTE TO GLOBAL SUMMIT
Michael Johnson, Federal Member for Ryan is inviting local Ryan residents to contribute to Australia's preparation for the World Summit on Sustainable Development. The summit will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 26 August to 4 September.
Michael Johnson said the 65,00 Summit delegates will discuss environmental and sustainable development issues of concern to many Australians.
"Achieving sustainable development is a core goal for governments around the world and I invite local Ryan residents to contribute their comments and concerns on this very important issue," Michael Johnson said.
As a member of the Government's policy committee on Environment and Heritage, Michael Johnson said he was keen to encourage lively debate on environmental issues.
"All submissions will be forwarded to the Federal Minister for the Environment and Heritage, Dr David Kemp to be considered as a part of public consultations being held around Australia," Michael Johnson said.
Submissions should be forwarded to the Office of Michael Johnson MP, Federal Member for Ryan, PO Box 704, Indooroopilly Qld 4068, no later than Friday, 10th May.
