JOHNSON WORKS FOR LOCAL BUSINESS FOR A DAY
Michael Johnson, Federal Member for Ryan, today made his first visit to a local Ryan business, the McIntyre Pony Centre, a pong riding school for the disabled, as a part of his unique Ryan Small Business Visit program, where he takes on the role of a local business operator for a day.
"It was a great opportunity for me to really understand the issues and challenges facing charitable organisations like the McIntyre Centre. This business provides such an important service to the community," Mr Johnson said.
"I also had the great privilege of meeting many of the volunteers who take part in the daily programs run by the McIntrye Centre and I would like to commend them on the terrific job they are doing."
"Of course, this is the first of many Small Business that I will be visiting over the coming months. I have been overwhelmed by the number of local small business who have expressed a very keen interest in participating in this new initiative," Mr Johnson said.
"I initiated the Ryan Small Business Visit program to ensure that I had the opportunity to actually perform the duties involved in running a particular small business and face the same issues that local operators deal with everyday."
"I would like to thank the McIntyre Centre for letting me have the opportunity of learning so much about the fantastic work they do," Mr Johnson said.
