Michael Johnson, Federal Member for Ryan, was pleased to present a $10 541.00 cheque from the Federal Government to the Veterans' Support & Advocacy Service Australia Inc Brisbane, to help veterans and war widows make claims for pensions and other benefits.

Mr Johnson said the funding was a part of the Government's Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) program.

"This Government recognises the vital role played by ex-service organisations in supporting veterans, war widows and widowers through claims application and appeals process," Mr Johnson said.

"The BEST program provides vital funds to ensure organisations such as The Veterans' Support & Advocacy Service Australia Inc, have the resources to provide and maintain quality services to members of the veteran community."

This grant will provide the Veterans' Support & Advocacy Service Australia Inc Brisbane with $9 000 consumable costs, on $165 scanner and $350 Internet costs. Additional, the Veterans' Support & Advocacy Service Australia Inc Brisbane will receive the use of one leased desktop computer, one leased multi purpose laser printer and a computer helpdesk service.
