$625,000 SCHOOL FACILITY OPENED AT KENMORE

A new administration classroom block was officially opened today at Our Lady of the Rosary School by Michael Johnson MP, Federal Member for Ryan.

The capital works project involved in the construction of a new administration block as well as the refurbishment of two classroom areas.

"These outstanding facilities will help ensure all students at Our Lady of the Rosary are encouraged to realise their potential and attain their goals," Mr Johnson said.

Michael Johnson officially opened the new facilities on behalf of the Commonwealth Minister for Education, Science and Training, the Hon Dr Brendan Nelson MP

The project was funded by both the Commonwealth Government with a grant of $309,997, and the school community who contributed $315,000 to the project.

Michael Johnson said the project demonstrated the Commonwealth Government's commitment to providing every student with the best possible learning environment through the provision of these new facilities.

"For 2003, the Commonwealth Government is committed to providing some $6.5 billion for schooling, an increase of almost $446 million or 7.4% over the previous year. This funding includes nearly $324 million for capital projects in Australian schools," Mr Johnson said.
